Tassomai teachers... could you present a 'Live Lesson' this Easter?

Tassomai usage data helps us to paint a picture of an individual student’s understanding. When that usage data is looked at as a whole, we can see which topics entire cohorts are struggling with.

We want to use this insight to help KS4 students prepare for their GCSEs by running a small number of virtual revision sessions over the Easter holidays, focusing on the topics that we know our users are finding tricky.

Earn a little extra over the holidays

We plan to trial our “Live Lesson” concept over the Easter holidays, and we are looking for Tassomai teachers to get involved.

Our teachers will need to be available at some point over the Easter break and able to commit to presenting a short (30-45 minute), Zoom based lesson on a topic they particularly enjoy teaching. We anticipate there being a little preparatory work involved and some follow up with the Tassomai team to help us refine our approach.

Teachers will be paid £100 each to thank them for their participation.

If there is sufficient interest from Tassomai teachers and demand from students and their parents we want to run lots more Live Lessons in the future!

**UPDATE - 25th March: Our Live Lessons schedule for Easter 2022 has been finalised**

Get your parent reports set up now!

We are intending to share a schedule of Live Lessons with Tassomai schools ahead of the Easter break, but an important way for us to tell parents about these sessions is through our weekly parent report emails. If you haven’t got parent reports set up for your classes please talk to your Customer Success Manager or email admin@tassomai.com ASAP.

Register your interest

If you are interested in presenting a Live Lesson, or have feedback on the concept, please fill in the form below. If you aren’t available over Easter but might want to get involved in the future please let us know too, as this will help us assess interest.

**UPDATE - 21st April: Our trial has now completed, please contact your Customer Success Manager if you are interested in teaching a Live Lesson rather than filling in the form.**

FAQs

How many Live Lessons are you planning for the Easter trial?

It depends on the amount of interest we get from teachers, but probably only a few topics per subject initially. This will be a fairly small scale trial to help us assess interest and refine the approach.

What subjects will you cover?

We plan to cover some topics from each of the core subjects Tassomai is used for in schools: English, maths and science. Note the target audience is students in year 11, revising for their GCSEs this summer.

Could I present more than one lesson?

As this is a small scale trial we want to get feedback from as many teachers as possible so we anticipate each teacher would only present one lesson, but there is scope for more work in future if it proves successful.

How many students will be taking part and will there be any interaction?

We intend to set up the sessions like webinars, so the attendees will not be visible on camera. Any interaction will probably be through polls and the Q&A function, this means we can potentially have quite a large number of attendees but that shouldn’t make too much difference to the teacher.

Are the lessons free for students?

Yes, these sessions will be open to all students and there won’t be any payment involved. We won’t be restricting them to Tassomai users, but we will be promoting them specifically to our users, not to a wider audience.

How will teachers present the lessons and what equipment / experience will they need?

The sessions will be remote, so teachers will need a reliable internet connection, a suitable device and to have some experience of teaching remotely. We will provide some guidance in advance, and someone from Tassomai will be involved in each session providing technical support and moderating the Q&A.

Will the lesson be recorded and how will it be used in future?

Lessons will be recorded and may be posted online (e.g. our YouTube and Vimeo channels) and used on social media either in full or as short clips. Ownership and copyright for the content would sit with Tassomai.

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us by emailing admin@tassomai.com.
