Conversations with Mai, and an update on our AI trial
Since the start of the 23/24 academic year, some Tassomai-using schools and private subscribing families have been helping us to trial Mai, our new AI-powered tutor.
We always hoped that Mai would prove to be a powerful addition to Tassomai, and we’re delighted with the positive feedback we’ve seen so far from students, teachers and parents.
Here’s just a small selection of the comments we’ve received…
"It was very effective in helping me find out the answer without giving it away allowing me to figure it out myself."
- Student feedback in-app"It really helps you figure out a question when you're stumped and I overall just love this new feature and think it is amazing."
- Student feedback in-app“Worked with a pupil using it this morning. She wasn't sure on the meaning of a word and Mai helped her. She then thought she might know the answer so checked with Mai and was really happy when Mai confirmed her choice!”
- Marge Evans, teacher at Sunninghill Prep“My son has used Mai for the first time this morning and I was shocked to see that he has got 100% correct answers on science for the first time ever and his overall scores improved in all subjects.”
- Joseline, parent
Conversations with Mai
As you can see from the conversations above, Mai can really help students with their Tassomai quizzes, but as we're approaching the end of a long first half of term you may well be in need of some light relief. With that in mind, we thought we'd share some of the more entertaining conversations we've noticed students having with Mai.
As you can see from the examples below, Mai can be fun, but despite the best efforts of some students, Mai isn’t easily distracted and will always try to bring students back on topic!
What’s next for the Mai trial?
Schools and families on the Mai trial will continue to have access over the half term break.
From Monday 30th October to Wednesday 1st November they will also notice a Halloween theme to Mai!
We’ll be evaluating the trial in early November and making some decisions about next steps.
If your school or family hasn't trialled Mai yet, don't worry as there will definitely be more opportunities to give Mai a try later in the year!
