Welcome to a new school year!

Over the summer our team have been developing and training Mai, Tassomai’s new artificial intelligence powered tutor.

Mai is probably a lot more powerful than other online chatbots you might have used before. Students can ask Mai anything related to their Tassomai quizzes - we haven’t pre-programmed Mai with answers to specific questions - although Mai is designed not to go too far off topic!

As you can see from the examples on this page, Mai is a powerful tool to aid learning.

We’re excited to be starting a beta trial with schools this term and putting Mai to the test with our users.

Teachers who registered their interest in our beta trial, should look out for a separate email with further details. If you’re not registered, don’t worry, there should be more opportunities to try Mai later in the year (and opportunities for our private subscribers too!).

New parental engagement features

It’s widely acknowledged that parental engagement is key to student success and last term we were excited to trial some new features exclusively for families who get Tassomai through schools. This term we’re rolling them out more widely and we’ll be doing much more to support this audience through our new Parent Club.

Parent Club is a place for the school parent community to learn more about Tassomai and get involved in their child’s learning. We’ll be sharing helpful content about exams and revision and running webinars for parents who get Tassomai through schools. Parent Club members can also Boost their child’s account and try new features and Tassomai products like Focus Sessions. We are intending to roll out free access to Boost for Pupil Premium families over the 23/24 academic year.

Tassomai teachers… make sure your parents are receiving our weekly progress report emails as this is the best way for us to keep them in the loop. We’ll also be prioritising those schools with progress reports in place when beta testing our AI tutor, so that we can keep parents informed about this new feature.

We’ve got lots more in the pipeline! Keep an eye out for our new guide to Inspiring Careers in English and more free Live Lessons closer to mock exams time. And just in case you missed it, towards the end of last term we launched Text to Speech and over the holidays we launched Dark Mode! These were two of the most highly requested features from Tassomai users.
