'Mai Explains' on the Tree - and extra Mai credits over half-term!
The Tassomai Tree just got bigger and better! Now students can learn from their mistakes by exploring detailed explanations on the Tree. School users also have extra Mai credits to try this new feature over half-term week.
A new, interactive way to learn from mistakes
Mai, Tassomai's AI-powered tutor, already gives students the option to view detailed explanations of errors. This happens via the 'Mai Explains' feature when a student is taking a quiz.
Now these explanations are accessible by clicking red and orange leaves on Tassomai Trees, making it easier for students to explore them at their own convenience.
Tassomai teachers in schools also have access to Mai Explains explanations on their students' trees, via their Teacher Dashboards. They can access explanations for any leaf on any student’s tree with an incorrect answer.
Students could previously only view explanations while quizzing, but now they can review explanations on their trees whenever they want by clicking red or orange leaves and then clicking the Mai Explain button. Any explanations a student generates will continue to be accessible in the future, they won’t need to use a Mai credit to view them again.
*Note this new feature is now live for students who log in via a web browser, but it won’t be available on the Tassomai mobile app until w/c 17th february. Students will receive a notification when the mobile app update goes live.*
Extra Mai Explains credits over half-term
To help students explore this new feature we're increasing the Mai Explains allowance for students who get Tassomai through schools to 10 credits from Monday 17th February for 1 week.
As with our other Mai features, interactions are normally capped at 4 per week, with students having 2 chances to ask Mai for help with a quiz and 2 chances to use the Mai Explains feature.
Note that all private subscriptions include uncapped access to Mai, and that parents / guardians of students who get Tassomai through schools also have an option to upgrade to Mai Unlimited.
Upgrading to Mai Unlimited means students can ask Mai for help and get errors explained to them as many times as they like.
Mai Unlimited is a great way for students to access unlimited support from our AI-powered tutor for less than £1 a week. This parental contribution helps to cover the additional cost of providing AI services.
Note that school parents must receive weekly progress reports and, for GDPR reasons they must have opted in to Tassomai’s Parent Club to be able to upgrade to Mai Unlimited.
Parents who are opted in to Parent Club can also view explanations of errors by accessing their child’s trees from their Parent Dashboards. If they’ve got Mai Unlimited they can see and generate as many explanations as they like when reviewing their child’s progress.
