Tassomai is 10!
As Tassomai celebrates its 10 year anniversary, having taught hundreds of thousands of students and contributed towards countless positive learning experiences, we take a look back at the milestones and achievements over the last decade and highlight some of our proudest moments.
Where it all began
Tassomai was founded by learning and revision expert Murray Morrison, who built the program to help his own students learn more effectively. Using techniques from sports and music coaching, Murray created a program to test and teach through continuous practice and adapted repetition.
Subject development
Science is in our DNA, it was the first Tassomai subject, and the original quiz questions were written by Murray who worked his way through the exam-board syllabuses (and many coffees) in his local cafe.
Following the success of the Tassomai model in science, and after conversations with schools and industry experts, our content team began to expand our offering to include maths and English. Most recently we’ve developed content for history, geography and computer science, and Tassomai now offers eight subjects, including French and Latin.
Our content is written with learners' needs in mind by subject specialists, and our courses are crafted to suit learners and educators alike with the help of consultant teachers.
Working with schools
Although Tassomai was developed as a student tutoring tool, it was quickly adopted by schools to help classes of students develop their knowledge and allow teachers to monitor their progress at a glance.
A big thank you to those schools who took a chance on Tassomai at the beginning and supported the development of the program, many of them are still with us today.
Some staggering stats!
Over the last 10 years, over 430,000 learners have completed more than 380 million quizzes, with over two billion total answers given.
Award-winning
Over the years we have been honoured to be nominated for, and to win, a shelf-full of awards, including Bett, ERA and Educate awards.
Edtech evolution
Tassomai is at the forefront of Edtech and we have the biggest and best data and insights to help more students learn better, more families support their children’s learning, and more teachers and schools to have an even greater impact.
Each year, we grow in the scope and capabilities of what we offer and how we do it and, bringing solutions together with other partners across the industry, we hope to continue to change lives in education for the better.
Making an impact
We’ve presented groundbreaking research into our product development and impact at the ASE (Association of Science Educators) on three occasions, and we’ve twice been accredited by the ASE and awarded the Green Tick.
Tassomai is a co-founder of the EdTech Evidence Group - an industry-wide body designed to raise the awareness of proper research into EdTech and raise the standards of discussion around impact within the industry.
Murray is also the chair of BESA’s (British Education Suppliers’ Association) STEM group, and sits on the Executive Council of BESA as a director. He has also been a contributor on education matters to ITV, BBC, Sky News and The Telegraph.
The team
The Tassomai team has enabled Tassomai to become what it is today. Listening to user feedback, developing new ideas and ensuring the program is versatile, yet reliable, has meant we have become a trusted resource in the UK education system. It takes a variety of people to make this happen and we appreciate everyone who has been a part of the team over the years and helped Tassomai reach the 10 year anniversary.
Thank YOU!
But more than anyone, thank you – the students, teachers, parents, guardians and anyone else who has used Tassomai. All your hard work, dedication and feedback has helped to shape what Tassomai is today and we couldn’t be what we are without you.
