Does Tassomai work and is it worth the money? We asked our subscribers to tell us...
On GCSE results day we emailed our private subscribers (parents who paid for Tassomai rather than those who got it through schools) to tell us how their children got on in their exams and what they thought of the program, here’s what they told us...

My son did Tassomai for a year. He must have been one of your higher participation students - he was very determined and dogged. He did triple award and ended up with grade 9 for Chemistry, Physics and Biology. He, and we his parents, could not have been more pleased. Tassomai played an enormous part in his success, along with many past papers and lots of hard work. Tassomai was key to his knowledge recall and application questions.
I am a science teacher as well as a father and a big fan of Tassomai. I frequently recommend Tassomai - I think the little and often approach works very well. I will continue to promote and advocate the product - all the more so now I have the concrete evidence from [learner].

Hi, I just wanted to thank you again for all your help in getting my youngest child through science GCSEs… Although [learner] has a natural affinity towards science, as a parent, it was still extremely reassuring that Tassomai was taking control of her revision schedule for 3 huge subjects, what she needed to work on and when. My daughter used Tassomai for the three sciences as she was hoping to continue with Biology & Chemistry at A level. She would complete the programme before going to school as well as at weekends & whilst she didn’t do it every day of the year we subscribed for, there weren’t many days she missed. Only criticism was that she wasn’t aware initially that she could tailor the topics covered. She worked incredibly hard towards all of her GCSEs & her results reflected this – happy to say that she got 9s in all 3 sciences

[Learner] passed science with a 6:5. Her mocks were a 4:3 so this was a huge improvement and very much down to revising using Tassomai. I wish her school had offered it like they used to do but they switched to a free app. We paid and it was worth every penny!

I definitely believe the personal subscription was worth every penny and had more to do with the final grade than her school classes. She didn’t always use it as much as I wanted her to but she never grumbled about revising as it was much more interactive than other methods! I found the reports really useful and was very impressed in how the subscription reduced as each science subject had been examined.

My daughter achieved 7-7 in combined science even though she did not complete the course. Had she started in year 8, I would have anticipated 8-9 or 9-9. I would recommend the Tassomai Science course to all parents and schools.

It might also help parents to know he did no other revision for Science except Tassomai and I do mean absolutely nothing! He didn't do any past papers at home or look at his school books or revision guides at all! It was just Tassomai that got him through!
I work in a school as an SEN teaching assistant and I will try and put it forward to the school as something to look at investing in. I'm not sure how receptive they'll be but I'll give it a go!
My youngest son starts his GCSEs in September so we will be subscribing for him as soon as the exam board is confirmed.

Our son got a 7 in Science! He is thrilled so are we. He did work hard but he was only predicted by the school to get a 6, and in his mock exams in December at the end of last year a 6 was not looking likely, he got 5s. He never managed to complete the whole Tassomai course but the way the revision is staggered for the different papers meant he could maintain focus and at least be sure he'd covered a reasonable percentage of the relevant syllabus before each exam. As a parent it was great to see he was making progress and because it was all computer based he was happy to use it.
It was worth every penny in the subscription, I cannot recommend this product highly enough.
He himself has told his younger brother that Tassomai is brilliant but you need to start on it earlier than he did. He only began using it in February the year of the exam and honestly didn't really get to grips with it until a couple of months before the exam. We think he could definitely have got at least an 8 if he'd started earlier. I should add here he's severely dyslexic too but the Tassomai system is very user friendly for dyslexics, you can take everything at your own pace and there's a real clarity in the layout and set up and the fact it's all IT based really helps.

Results for AQA Separate Science GCSE's - 9's in Biology, Physics & Chemistry. Very pleased with Tassomai, definitely played its part in the high grades. Highly motivated student but it helped that by using Tassomai he quickly saw the worth of it so used it (nearly) everyday. It was really good as the year went on that the questions became pretty tricky - great for my son who was aiming for the best possible grades (8/9's). With frequent use this personalised approach really helped to keep reminding him of topics - especially the more difficult ones. Also helped with exam stress as my son went into the exams confident - even though he had a couple of changes of Biology teacher and the Physics course had to rather rush through a few of the topics to complete the syllabus. It was good to have the content pretty much covered by Tassomai which meant other science revision time could be spent on practicing long answer questions.
Would not hesitate to recommend Tassomai and although we are of modest means the cost was worthwhile - but please don't make it too expensive as for us a tenner a week is an affordable but not insignificant financial commitment. I appreciated the fact that the course & payments stopped automatically after the exam - one less thing for me to worry about and a nice customer service touch.
There was never any problems accessing the course and the weekly emails on progress were helpful. Will be looking to get my younger child on a Tassomai course when he starts GCSE courses in a couple of years time - please don't 'dumb down' content or presentation too much, we don't need 'games' ! Just continue with reliable content at the correct level for the student."
